ABOUT US

Enlighten a Nation Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Rochester, NY that focuses on helping Black single mothers in college by providing scholarships and resources to help them be successful in college and in their careers. The scholarships we offer are $500 and can go towards any expenses the recipient may have. 

I was a single. working mother in college, trying to navigate how to raise a child, how to keep good grades while trying to get as many hours as possible to provide for myself and my daughter. I had a nurse from Nurse Family Partnership tell me about an opportunity for a scholarship and I won! I told myself when I had the opportunity to do the same for other women I would, and now I am.
